BREAKFAST & AFTERNOON TEA

WEEKLY MENU

Fresh fruit and vegetables are available every afternoon. 

Fresh drinking water is available at all times.

 

GPBASC aims to provide nutritious and varied food, of high quality. Children are encouraged to develop good eating habits through good examples and education. Parents are encouraged to share family and multicultural values and ideas to enrich the variety and enjoyment of food by the children. High standards of hygiene are maintained throughout all food preparation. Snack times are seen as a social event where children and staff can relax, talk about their day and experience a variety of foods.

Breakfast

Breakfast is available between 7.00am & 7.45am

GPBASC provides a variety of nutritious food for the children each morning. Breakfast food available includes Weetbix, Rice Bubbles, Corn Flakes, Sultana Bran, toast, muffins, crumpets, water, juice, milo, milk.

 

 

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea for Gladesville School is between 3.10pm & 3.30pm

Afternoon tea for Putney School is between 3.40pm & 4.00pm

GPBASC promotes balanced and healthy eating practices by offering a variety of home made snacks, light meals, fresh fruit and vegetables.

All children must wash their hands before eating. Tongs are provided for the children to serve themselves. All children's individual needs such as allergies will be addressed in the menu. Staff will keep a list of all children's allergies or food restrictions near food preparation area.

Afternoon Tea Examples - Shepherd’s Pie, Chow Mien, Nachos, Fried Rice, Risotto, Soups, San Choy Bau, Casseroles, Curries, Sausages, Chow Mein, Pasta, Lasagne, Muesli Slice, Muffins, Cookies, Banana Caked, Dried Fruit, Popcorn, Sandwiches, Spaghetti Bolognese.

Food Allergies

Policy Statement:

Gladesville Putney Before & After School Care aim to provide nutritional food that meets the safety and dietary requirement of all children.

Procedure:

  • Where a child is at risk of having an anaphylactic reaction ‘trigger’ food will not be kept at the centre.

  • Foods that ‘may contain traces’ of the ‘trigger’ food will be served.

  • Suitable options will be available to children with allergies.

  • The centre will display the weekly food program for parental viewing.

  • Children are not permitted to bring any foods containing peanuts.
